Innovation Management Service (SGI)
The Innovation Management Service of UPC has as its main function the valorization of research results, understood as the process of supporting technological maturation, advancing TRL to bring technologies to the market. The main activities are: protecting the results of intellectual and industrial property, valorizing technologies, creating spin-offs based on research results, and promoting entrepreneurial culture throughout the UPC community.
The head of the service is Cristina Aresté, and is organised into the following Units:

The Innovation Management Service is composed of two main areas:

Technology Protection |
Advising teachers on intellectual and industrial property (IP) strategy and portfolio management. |
Research Valorisation |
Support for faculty in the processes of maturation of research results and assistance in advancing technologies to the market. Search for funding through valorization grants.

Technological Transfer | Advising teachers on technological commercialization strategies, third-party licensing, or supporting the creation of knowledge-based companies (spin-offs). |

Pre-incubation | Emprèn UPC is the program to foster entrepreneurial culture and support the creation of new technology-based and/or innovative companies aimed at UPC students and/or recent graduates with a project in its initial phase. |

Pre-accelerator From Science to Market
Pre-acceleration program to promote the transfer of technology and knowledge. This initiative is funded by the Department of Business and Labor and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus through the Primer Program.

Pre-acceleration program specialized in the Industrial Tech sector, in collaboration with the Centre Cim Foundation. Funded by the Department of Business and Labor and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus through the Primer Program.
Program Impuls of the UPC
Program organized by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) with the support of Santander Universities. Aimed at technology-based companies and entrepreneurial projects promoted by students, recent graduates, faculty, and/or PTGAS from the UPC.
