The new website presents new functions as a platform for promoting scientific infrastructures and services and centralizes management.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) has launched the new version of the Scientific and Technical Services web portal (SCT), a renewed space that offers a more intuitive and efficient experience for the entire academic, research, and business community. This update facilitates access to key information about scientific and technical infrastructures and services, improving visibility and promotion of the available resources.

The new web portal enhances usability and offers clearer navigation, making it easy to find all information about laboratories and their cutting-edge scientific and technical services. This renovation represents greater transparency in the infrastructure offerings, making it easier for any interested user to understand the portal's possibilities.

One of the portal's major applications is its function as a platform for promoting infrastructures and scientific services. Both internally and externally, researchers, students, and companies will be able to discover and access laboratories, equipment, and services, facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange with other research groups and entities.

Thus, the portal becomes the single reference point for accessing information about all UPC infrastructures and services. Additionally, any user can directly contact service managers once identified on the platform, eliminating the need for intermediaries and streamlining communication.

The system includes a section where all updated rates can be consulted, referencing the Governing Council where they were approved. Furthermore, the portal automatically differentiates between internal UPC users, who will see the corresponding rate, and external users, who will access their specific rate.

The new website also includes a scientific infrastructure map, which allows users to visually and structurally explore all available services at UPC. Additionally, thanks to an API system (Application Programming Interface), infrastructure information is expected to be directly integrated into the websites of UPC schools and other institutional platforms, avoiding the need to manually replicate data and ensuring its constant updating. This automation will facilitate the dissemination of information both internally and externally, representing a major advancement in web data management within UPC.

To introduce all the functions of this new tool and explain how it can benefit faculty in their activities, a series of in-person sessions will be organized on each campus. All information about these sessions will be published soon on the UPC Research, Development, and Innovation website.
