Marie Skłodowska-Curie

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are aimed at supporting the training, professional development, and international mobility of research staff through the funding of doctoral programmes, postdoctoral projects and collaborative projects.

There are four main types of calls:

  • Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN)
These are aimed at funding doctoral programmes in academic and non-academic entities. These calls highly value practical approaches and the applicability of research.
  • Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF)
Funding aimed at researchers with less than eight years of experience after the award of a doctorate who want to develop new skills and gain experience in other countries. They can be at both European and global levels.
  • Staff Exchange (MSCA-SE)
This programme focuses on international exchange actions of researchers during short stays. The objective is the development of sustainable collaborations involving both research entities and non-academic organisations. These projects can last up to four years.
  • COFUND (MSCA-COFUND)
The training and development of predoctoral and postdoctoral research careers are the objectives of this programme.
