Introduction

The UPC is organised into the following main areas of knowledge: information technologies, industrial engineering, architecture, civil engineering, and sciences, which we call the first level.

From the perspective of research and technology transfer, we break down these main areas into two more levels of knowledge and incorporate the field of application to society. It should be noted that the UPC develops a very extensive and specific amount of excellent research and that the following areas are more general groupings of knowledge.
